We, Tong, will tell you about one of the biggest public holiday in August!
It is called Gwangbokjeol, which means National Liberation Day.

National Liberation Day
Gwangbokjeol, also called as Independence Day of Korea,
celebrated annually on August 15th!
It is one of the public holiday in South Korea.
It commemorates Victory over Japan Day, which liberated Korea from colonial rule.

In South Korea, many activities and events happen during the day,
including an official ceremony with the president in attendance that takes place
at the Independence Hall of Korea in Cheonan or
at the Sejong Centre for the Performing Arts.

Of course,
Seodaemun-gu is planning to have many activities and events on August 15th!
It is called Seodaemun-gu Independence Democracy Festival 2014!
On the day, all buildings and homes are encouraged to display
the South Korean national flag called Taegukki!

This year, we will celebrate 69th anniversary of Korean National Liberation Day!
For example, Seodaemun-gu will have Independence Democracy Festival on the day!
As well as, there are many historical places you can visit too!
Seodaemun Prison History Hall,
Independence Gate, Seodaemun Independence Garden and much more!
